Thank you for your attention. I know I haven’t been the best with my email list…
The truth is, in my agency and coaching journey, I’ve found other tactics and strategies that were more effective for me and that I liked doing more.
That was a big realization I had a few years ago, I had traded my corporate golden handcuffs for a shiny new pair of my own making.
I was doing a bunch of things in my agency that I didn’t want to. The short version is that I decided to start over from the ground up with the goal of building a business that I love operating. And since then, I’ve fallen in love with the game of marketing (more on that later).
A big turning point for me was understanding Systems Thinking and more importantly, the Theory of Constraints. The theory of constraints is the idea that there can only be one bottleneck in your business and until you fix that, anything else you do will make the system worse (or break completely).
Imagine running a bottling plant for Coke and a big order comes in for a new flavor. You add a new bottle maker to meet the new demand and you start sending them down the line.
But the Coke machine can only pour so fast (darn bubbles) and all your shiny new bottles are getting jammed up while they wait.
In a scenario like that, it’s pretty easy to see what needs to be fixed but in the online agency world, the problems aren't so obvious…
What I’ve found in nearly a decade of doing this, thousands of sales calls, and building several 6 and 7 figure businesses, plus coaching hundreds of agency owners…
There are three main buckets that all bottlenecks fall into and agency owners make two big mistakes when identifying and dealing with their bottlenecks.
They pick the wrong thing to focus on.
They keep adding to the system.
I’ve realized that I’m drawn to the problems in business.
I love the challenge and figuring them out. Early on I started sharing what I’ve found to work in my businesses and people found it helpful so I’ve continued to do that.
Now I’ve had the honor of over 3,500 people using the lessons and insights I’ve learned to grow their own agencies.
I want to continue sharing those insights with you and other agency owners. Why? Because it makes the entire agency and online marketing space better and we all make more money.
But I could use your help doing it…
Can you hit reply really quick and let me know the biggest problem you’re facing in your agency around these three areas:
Getting clients for yourself.
Getting results for your clients.
Growing your agency.
Even if email isn’t your thing and you’re going to hit unsubscribe after reading this, still let me know. We’ll be using everyone’s replies to help inform the content, masterclasses, and other trainings we focus on.
Or if you're feeling lazy, just let me know which area is your biggest headache - 1, 2, or 3.
And if you do reply with your biggest problem, I’ll share a bonus insight you can use right now to re-engage your email list.
If you’re curious but not totally sold on email yet, tomorrow’s email might change your mind.
(hint: engaged subscribers buy 28% more than those who don’t get emails.)
That was only one of many email stats that blew my mind and made me realize I needed to give my list more attention. I’ve built a pretty successful (and fun) marketing career on this one philosophy…
“Let’s try it and see what happens.”
More tomorrow.

P.S. If you’ve been in my world for a while now, would you mind sharing one way I've helped you on your agency journey or an insight you've learned from any of my stuff?
